About Eddie
If there was a Mensa for dogs, our superstar Eddie would definitely qualify. Whip smart and very food motivated, this handsome lad is looking for a home who would delight in finding ways to keep his busy brain occupied through enrichment games, trick training, and puzzle feeders. Very curious and with a confident and cheeky manner, Eddie will make his own fun when bored - so he will thrive in a home with companions (human or hound).
Definitely not your average couch potato, if there is something to do then Eddie is right there ready to assist, or at least closely supervise. In fact, he'd really prefer whatever you plan to do, to be an activity for two.
Eddie is currently in foster care with another male greyhound of a similar age. They get along very well and play when their foster human is home. When their human is at work, both boys snooze the 10 hours he's gone, maybe popping outside for a pee and a stretch, then back to their beds.
You will find yourself making lots of new friends with extroverted Eddie by your side, he loves people, and is very polite with dogs of all sizes. He is an excellent walking companion, described as a "champion on lead" by his foster carer, and he currently enjoys a daily thirty minute stroll. With his supermodel good looks, and irresistible speckles, he is sure to draw a crowd of admirers wherever he goes.
Truly a Melbournian, Eddie is a coffee connoisseur, his foster reports that not even a piping hot cup will deter him, so best not to leave your morning brew unattended.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
