About Rocky
Rocky is a sweet and loving boy who loves playing with other dogs equally as much as he loves cuddling up to his people. Rocky was a pound rescue so not much is known about his past. We know that he came to us as a young dog who has clearly interacted with humans before, as he is loving and very eager to please.
Rocky was listed as a Pomeranian v Poodle at the pound, but he doesn't look much the part. Getting to know him, he seems to look more like a Kelpie mix breed, with a lean body, long legs, and flopped over ears. He does have that curled Pomeranian tail! He weighs just over 9 kgs and he's unlikely to get much bigger.
Since being in our care, Rocky's personality has flourished. He is very keen to please his owners and is more driven by affection than food. Walks are his favourite time of the day, and he loves greeting dogs on the walk. He could benefit from some more lead training as he can be so excited to meet other dogs, but his excitement for walks is infectious and perfect for someone who wants a social dog. He plays beautifully with our foster carer's resident dog and has been a true gentleman with our foster carer's resident cat. We think he would love a home with a pet friend.
He travels well in the car and is friendly to everyone he meets. He is not a yappy dog and communicates more through jumping, though he's coming a long way with training to control that. He's still getting around some toilet-training but that is dramatically better than when he first came into our care. He's a lovely dog, and if you're looking for a loyal and lively companion, Rocky would not let you down.
