Are you ready to welcome a loyal companion into your home? Look no further, because Sault is here to bring joy, adventure, and unwavering friendship into your life.
Sault is a special dog with a unique story, and we're excited to introduce you to this remarkable canine companion.
About Me: Sault is a dog looking for a forever home with experienced dog owners who understand his individual needs. Sault has a compelling backstory, and we believe in providing him with a loving home that recognizes his unique qualities.
Sault is a confident dog with a charismatic personality. If you're a full-time worker or part-time worker - no need to worry because Sault is adaptable to your routine.
Whether you're a family with a bustling household, a serene oasis of calm, or an active and outdoorsy bunch, Sault is adaptable and ready to fit right in.
Ideal Home: Sault loves the great outdoors! He would be happiest with free access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. If you have a medium to large yard with high, secure fencing, Sault will revel in his ability to explore and play in a safe environment.
Family: While Sault can be a bit aloof when meeting new people, he's the type of dog that creates a deep, unbreakable bond with his owner. Once you've earned his trust (& this won't take long), you'll have a devoted best friend by your side, ready to share countless adventures and cherished moments.
If you have kids aged 15 years and up, Sault is open to meeting them and becoming an important part of your family.
Furry Friends: Sault should be the only dog in your household due to his stress levels around other dogs. This reaction is indicative of a dog that wasn't exposed to or trained around other dogs during his crucial socialisation stages. While he may not be a good fit for households with cats or pocket pets either, he's sure to thrive with the love and care of an understanding owner who is happy to have him as the sole pet.
Work: Sault would benefit from post-adoption one-on-one training with a professional to help him overcome some of his unique challenges. He could also use some leash training, but with your guidance, he's sure to make great progress.
He's a smart and food-motivated boy who takes treats gently and already knows how to sit. With your support, he can learn so much more!
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Sault is a playful guy who likes toys and a good game of tug. He's the kind of dog that will bring endless laughter and entertainment to your life. He has medium energy requirements and daily exercise/walks would be beneficial for him.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
