Hi, I’m Gawn, and my foster parents think I am the most adaptable snuggle bunny around. I’m a young kelpie cross and I am a lovely mix of crazy playful puppy and smoochy cuddle monster. I like to sit on my foster mum’s lap when she is on the toilet, as I have realised that this is when I can have her loves all to myself, but I am also very happy to share the love with my foster siblings, including the cats, which I am desperate to get snuggles from if they’d just let me. I think children are fabulous, and I have not been a nippy land shark like my littermates, so would be very happy in a family that has dog respectful children of any age.
I am doing extremely well with my toileting. I try to get someone’s attention by gently whimpering at the gate when I need to go out. If no one helps me I usually wee on my approved spot on an old towel as I am too young at the moment to hold on for very long.
Like most puppies, I love to chew. Most of the time I chew my own toys, but sometimes when my family is out and I am in the yard, I chew plants and “help” with the gardening by deciding what plants and soil need relocating. This means that my new family will have to check that there are no plants that may make me sick in my new garden until I understand not to eat them. I haven’t discovered shoes or power cords yet, but these will need to be out of my reach whilst I’m a puppy so I don’t get hurt (or in trouble…)
I sleep solidly from 8pm until roughly 6am in my crate with my brother, before my tummy decides it’s time for brekky and a romp. I’m still having 3 meals a day, but weaning to 2, and I have lots of long naps in between plays.
I ADORE my foster brother Digger, who is 12 months old and very energetic. I hang off his face, sit on his head and generally pester him whenever I am awake. He is very patient with my brother and me. I would love for my new home to have a fur sibling that is just as patient as Digger, but one with good manners, that will help me learn to not be a pest when I am asked to stop. I will also need to have formal training in order to become the best doggo that I can be. I currently sit for my food, which I am OBSESSED with, and am very smart, so I should pick up my training quickly if my humans are consistent with me.
