About Indiana/Indi
Indi’s personality:
Indi is a stunning and unique 5-year-old mixed breed doggie. You could be forgiven for assuming she is part greyhound when you see how fast her long legs hurtle her around, however, her previous owners had a DNA test done on Indi, and so we know exactly what breed she is! Indi loves to play, and balls (well, her favourite ball) are her greatest motivation. She will zoom around playing fetch until she is needing a rest, at which point she will happily lay down for a cuddle and belly scratch! Indi is highly intelligent and enjoys the company and affection of her people - she is very in-tune with her surroundings and will always be there for a cuddle on the couch when you need it most.
Indi is loyal and has been very well trained - she has a number of very clever "tricks" that she has learnt - with her ball being the reward. Indi enjoys the mental stimulation that comes with the type of training that she has experienced. We hope that her new family is able to continue with this, building on her current skills and spending time with her practicing what she already knows.
Indi, enjoys hiking in the bush, exploring waterfalls, swimming, camping and going away for weekend adventures. She is used to being active and busy and included in all her human's activities.
Indi’s ideal forever home:
It is a given that Indi will need a home where she will be a loved member of the family, who is included in the families day to day activities. Like most doggies, Indi loves routine and consistency and would suit a family with a predictable work schedule, where she won't be left alone too often or for too long. She would also do well with a family who already have experience in training and/or agility, or who are willing to learn. It would be such a shame for her to lose the skills she already has, and the mental stimulation that comes with learning.
Indi has lived with other dogs and cats and gets along well with both. As with all new introductions, they should be done with care and planning. Going to a new home can be a bit overwhelming for some doggies, although Indi has settled into life at Sweet Pea very well.
Indi’s story:
Indi was very sadly surrendered from the home she has known since she was 7 weeks old. It was a heartbreaking decision for her owners to make, but due to a change in their circumstances it was in Indi's best interest to do so. Indi has been so well loved and cared for throughout her life - she has only known kindness and love and has received the best health and veterinary care available. Indi arrived at Sweet Pea in mid-September and has settled in well, loving the regular playtime and walks with our volunteer team. She is now ready to find her new family!
More about Indi:
Indi is an intelligent, speedy, ball-loving, snuggly, love-bug! She walks amazingly well on a lead and loves to show off her tricks when given the chance. She would suit a home that is willing to provide mental stimulation for her, as well as regular walks and adventures.
Indi will be your adventure buddy, your loyal best friend and best of all – snuggle with you on the couch at the end of a long day.
Medical notes
Indi’s medical history:
Indi is desexed, vaccinated, treated for heartworm, fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms. She currently takes Stilboestrol - one tablet once weekly for incontinence, which was a result of an issue at desexing.
