About Jolene
Jolene’s requirements in her new home,
- A desexed male dog, happy to have a companion to hang with.
- Someone able to provide her with training
- Owners who are home more often than not
- Having access to chews, Licky mats, kongs etc when her humans leave her.
- Jolene insists on having an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, she has no interest being left outside while her family are inside.
- Continue to give her access to a crate as a safe haven and to help with her with her anxiety about being left.
- Regular visits outside to keep her toilet accident free.
- Patient understanding owners as she has a lot to learn after her tough start in life
- Secure fencing.
Jolene will need a desexed male adult dog (not senior) in her new home she will be happy curled up with her new best friend snoozing.
She is definitely one of the laziest dogs I have ever met. She will put off and put off going outside in the morning for toileting as long as possible, in order to stay snuggling in her bed. Her desire to snuggle and nap on the couch is very very strong! She is toilet trained despite her delaying this and will signal when she absolutely needs to go outside.
Jolene will need ongoing training to figure out her place in the world, and how she’s meant to act, given her start in life was so sheltered and delayed, she has responded very well, and very quickly training and commands we have started with her.
Jolene has some anxiety around being left and will need tools to assist her when her family leaves. I believe that she will need a family that is only gone part time and she will not cope with an owner who is gone all day. Bones, puzzles, lick mats, treat balls etc will be of benefit to help calm Jolene down when she is left alone.
Jolene is so affectionate and cuddly and will need to be allowed inside with her family and experience that time together. She is mostly calm inside which makes it easy to have her around.
She will sleep in a crate overnight, although she does need lots of encouragement to move from the dog bed or the couch into the crate at night - but once she’s in there, she settles down immediately.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
