About Charlie
Things Charlie wants her new home to know;
- Charlie is a reserved lady who will need someone to really take the time to win her trust before they can see really see her great personality shine through.
- Charlie is not a lap cat but likes to be in sight of her people and usually turns up in whichever room her humans are in
- Charlie loves head scratches as you pass but doesn't love cuddles though she is learning cuddles can be great, especially in human beds
- Charlie is a very sweet and gentle soul. She has never been known to hiss or growl or bite and likes to show her affection by licking your fingers, hands and arms.
- Once Charlie trusts her people she loves to sleep in her humans bed. In expert cat style she will pick the best spot for comfort and attention and loves to be the little spoon on cold nights resting her head on your arm.
- Charlie loves toys so would like her humans to supply these and is happy to point out her favourites as she will put them on the bed at night so they are there to play with when you wake up.
- Charlie loves head scratches
- Charlie loves to get involved in shower time. She loves chasing water drops in and around the shower. Once she is soggy she flops on the bathmat to dry off and waits for her person to get out so she can rub herself on your wet legs. This is your chance to give her tummy rubs and more head scratches. She will also chew your slippers to pass time while you are in the shower.
- Charlie plays great with other cats but is also happy in her own company ( so long as she can cuddle her humans at bed time)
- Charlie will need to be an indoor only cat to keep her safe, though Charlie does like to watch the outdoors from the safety of her enclosed cattery. Charlie cannot be allowed to roam outdoors as normal boundary fences are not enough to keep her on your property away from outside dangers.
- Charlie would like to request a cat tower as she loves to nap on the tallest shelf and drop her feet over to hold your hand.
Poor Charlie has a shortened tail and it's quite bent. This just accentuates the wagging when she plays. When you consider her love of water, chewing shoes and tenancy to lick her humans in dedicated style, Charlie is like a little puppy and her stumpy waggy tail just adds to her abundant character. Sadly we have no information on what happened to Charlie's tail, but we suspect an injury when she was very young. It doesn't impact her in anyway. We even tracked down the vet that desexed and vaccinated her before arriving in our care and he had nothing documented on it.
- Charlie doesn't mind noise from the vacuum or staple guns etc so noise is ok but she needs a home with gentle people who won't rush her and will let her do the loving when she is ready.
- Charlie doesn't mind cat friendly dogs but is yet to interact with them. She tends to ignore them.
Did we mention Charlee loves head scratches?
The breed is to the best of our knowledge from the information we've been given.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
