Well hello, my name’s Hanako and I’m so pleased to be able to tell you my story. Actually I’m lucky to be alive to tell you this story. I was saved by my wonderful rescue group from the pound on the day/morning that I was to be euthanised. Yee gods…that’s what I call a close shave?! My time was up but lucky me got plucked out of the pound and now I’m living my best life with my foster carer in the hills of South Gippsland.

Here I am running around with all my doggy friends, fresh air flapping in my ears on the farm. I’m a social girl and I love playing with my mates, there’s two kelpies here that I love to do zoomies with. Of course they’re Aussie working dogs but when it comes to speed I can run the pants off those guys and I’m just a plain old staffy cross. There’s couple of cats here too, they keep to themselves pretty much and I just let them do their stuff. It’s only when they run that I get a bit tempted to chase them.

My foster family don’t have any little kids living here at home so I’m not sure how I’d go with them. I’m a bit of an excitabIe girl, I just can’t stop myself being a bit jumpy. My foster mum is working with me on this but you’ll need to keep reminding to calm down. She lets me know that if I sit then I’ll get a pat and that’s good stuff. I tell you what though, I do love my humans, when I’m around them in the house I just want to be patted and cuddled, geez I love that!

I’m just a genuine loving goofy girl who just wants a family to make my own. I’m only just one so I’ve still got a lot of learning to do but if you help me and teach me I’ll be the best dog I can be. I’ll love you till the end of time and that’s a promise!
