About Claude
Introducing our biggest boy Claude,
Coming in at a whopping 57kg this boy certainly takes the title of biggest boy!
Claude arrived to the shelter a very shut down boy and it's taken him a long time to build his confidence. He's had some very dedicated staff over the last couple of months spending time and taking it super slow with him to learn that new people and the world aren't so scary after all.
Claude would love to go to a very quiet home with all adults, ideally 1-2 people, as he does need his space whilst building bonds with new people, but once this boy learns his can trust you he's a happy slobbery boy who will happily come and sit by you for some gentle pats.
He would also prefer to be the only pet in the house hold. He has shown some positive social cues around other dogs, he does also get a little worried & stressed out by others so you would need to take it slow when meeting other dogs whilst out for walks.
Claude is a gentle giant & though he has come on leaps & bounds since he first got here he will need his new owners willing to take it slow with him & give him lots of space as he finds it all a bit overwhelming.
He is a quite literally a small horse therefore needs to go to a spacious home with a big backyard where he will also be welcomed inside as part of the family. As he is a big man, but also quite worried by new people & smaller spaces, he is not suitable to go to apartment blocks.
If you're interested in adopting him come on down to the Cranbourne shelter for a meet & greet.
Claude.
