🐾🖤 MEET SALEM 🖤🐾
"I like big bellies and I cannot lie,
You other felines can't deny,
That when a kitty walks in
With an itty-bitty waist,
And a belly in your face, you get -"
Oh, hey friends! It's me, your friendly neighbourhood panther, here to grace your screens with my supermodel looks and charming purrsonality. Before you scroll on by, why don't you take a seat, get comfortable and enjoy the rest of this version of "Kitty Got Belly" that Sir Mix-A-Lot dedicated to me?
... No? Well, at least give me the chance to re-introduce myself. I've been in care a while now and it's about time we updated this bad boy, so here goes ..
Nature
Let's rewind back a few years to the beginning of my story: I was living on the tough streets of Perth when I was found hungry, cold and alone. I didn't realise it at the time, but my luck was about to change after an Angel rescued me and whisked me away to safety. I won't lie, domesticated life hasn't always been easy for me. For a long time I was sad and scared. I'd hiss and swipe at my pawrents whenever they came near and I relied heavily on my siblings for comfort.
Fast forward to today and I am a completely different kitty. I'm a huge fan of my hoomans and will go up to them, chatting away, asking for pats and love. My Foster Mum says I am one of the sweetest little kitties she has ever had the pleasure of knowing and would adopt me in a heartbeat if she could.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
The best part of each and every day is my foster siblings. The love I have for them could reach Jupiter and back. They are my best friends and I look out for them as much as they look out for me. I would love nothing more than to be adopted with my foster sister, Devon (another PRA kitty), as we have ridden this crazy journey for the past three years together. In all honesty though, so long as I join a family with another friendly kitty or two I'll be a happy little chappy.
I've not met dogs or children before but my Foster Mum thinks I'll do much better with the older, more relaxed, kind who will be gentle and respect my boundaries whilst I settle into my new digs.
Likes / Dislikes
Without a shadow of a doubt, if I had to pick my favourite thing of all time, it would be food. No contest. I could be waving a flag at the top of Mount Everest, or floating around the edges of our solar system, if you've got food then I. AM. THERE. Other things I love include my foster siblings, snuggling up in my hooman's lap, those tasty Dine Creamy Treats, gentle pats, snoozing the days away, chicken, being brushed ... and food. The most important one is food.
Whilst I'm growing in confidence with every passing day, I can still be timid around new people. I also find new environments quite scary initially, but it doesn't take me long until I put on my brave boots and start exploring the land.
I'm also really not a fan of mean and aggressive animals. I have had enough drama for one lifetime - only good vibes from here on out now please!
My PURR-fect homes would be with a family who are looking to give a former street kitty a second chance at a beautiful life. My main wish is to find a home where my belly never rumbles, my bed is always soft and my heart is always full.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.
