About Dolly
** IN FOSTER CARE IN KOGARAH**
Dolly is a wonderfully friendly little girl and is eager to greet any human she meets in the world, young old male or female she wants to be buddies. In the home as typical of Pomeranians she will pick her best favourite person and shadow them whenever they’re available.
At only just shy of 2 years old though she is tilting the scales a touch too high and needs to lose around half a kilo to be her best self and also be a lot cooler in hot weather. She had been on a low calorie diet in her original home and her new home must be committed to helping her lose the weight and not give into her preference for people food.
As a Pomeranian she’s got luscious locks which need very regular brushing, many people are tempted to shave poms but their double coat does not respond well to it so it’s not recommended. Also typical of poms she is vocal, while she was comfortable with apartment life she’s was too much of a keen guardian of the abode so we are recommending her for a townhouse or house with neighbours who will understand that you will be working to set boundaries around alert barking. While in foster in a house she has been less vocal without hallway foot traffic outside her front door..
MY IDEAL HOME: Dolly likes to be around people and does get a little separation anxiety when left alone for too long. She would be ideally suited to fur parents/family thats home during the day. While Pomeranians can be little couch potatoes preferring to do what their people are doing, Dolly can be energetic and will be best suited to a home who will provide daily exercise which will benefit her weight loss and also help reduce alert barking in the home.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Dolly loves going on long walks and to the dog park. Daily walks help her get energy out and helps to keep her calmer and less reactive to strange noises or people walking by the house.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Dolly is great with kids and lived with a very young child happily in her original home and could do so again, she is good at not getting under foot and despite her tiny size is a sturdy build. Due to her excitement when she meets new people she does jump up so would need to be careful with toddlers who might get off balance. Once she has said her excited hello, she becomes gentle and calms right down.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Dolly is untested with cats in the home but ignores them on the street so may do well with a cat who is not fussed by dogs and barking in their home. She’s friendly with other dogs of all sizes and very submissive in conflict so she will take no thank you as an answer from dogs not interested in play. She would also be completely happy as a solo dog and just socialising while out and about in the world.

All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
