About Hunny
Hunny by Name and honey by nature…. How can you not adore the love of a Goldie ?? Our beautiful and very affectionate girl is now seeking a special family to call her very own. Hunny at just 24 kilos of golden wavy coated floofy deliciousness is smaller size for a goldie but at just 1 year , 2 months old still does have a bit of growing to do.
Hunny loves hoomans nearly more than she loves food hahaha and will get all up and cuddly for as long as you have time to give her as much affection as you have time and energy for…..
Hunny has a beautiful loving and soft temperament but does have a confidence challenge that is improving each and every day as she builds up her confidence with the big wide world around her.
Hunny LOVES other dogs to pieces and we definitely see her confidence soar in the presence of others so we are definitely (No Exceptions} seeking a home with another doggo for her as this is what is best for her!
She is starting to enjoy toys and yup as the breed is renown for, she's a foodie lol
We are pretty confident Hunny did not have a lot of exposure to suburban life prior to coming into care and her trepidations around some things shows us she is only experiencing some basic day to day things as brand new experiences eg like garage roller doors, trucks and cars zooming down the road while walking startle her.
Can we ask that before you apply please read her adoption post and the adoption criteria in full to ensure you are not disappointed as we are seeking a specific home for her to ensure she can thrive in her new home. Remember we know the dog and know what's best for her based on her personality!
Favorite things
Hunny enjoys pats, pats and more pats. And did we say MORE PATS??? Hunny is a very affectionate girl who adores her humans. She will take any form of human contact, even sitting very still for an extensive brushing session. Hunny has shown some interest in her squeaky ball and chewing on toys. She loves treats of all varieties.
Obedience/Training
Hunny can sit when asked, and is learning to shake and stay. It did not take very long for Hunny to respond to her new name, she has been very receptive and quick to learn. Hunny walks well on lead, but does get very startled by loud unfamiliar sounds; cars, trucks, busses etc while we are walking her down main and busier roads. As a typical very intelligent breed Hunny is willing and eager to learn but she will need a kind and very patient home that will continue to give her reassurance while she experiences new things in the outside world.
Food
Hunny is eating a combination of both premium dry food and prime 100.
Exercise
Goes without saying that Hunny will need daily exercise and stimulation being not only a young girl but a young Goldie……. Wel, l those that know will know lol
Inside the home
We feel that prior to coming into our care Hunny was not familiar with being indoors. When inside she wanders around the house aimlessly for a while before settling down. Hunny will always be found close by your side. Hunny has been toilet trained. Hunny does not like being crated and much prefers sleeping outdoors at this stage
Animal Socialization
Hunny LOVES other dogs and is a sweet and polite and playful girl
Not tested with cats
Adoption Criteria
Hunny is a baby girl that thrives and blossoms inconfidence in the company of other dogs so we are absolutely seeking a home with another well socialized doggo BFF
A home with a med to large yard that has ample grass to play on, secure fencing , shade and shelter from the elements and things to play with
A home with another dog is an absolute MUST and we seek a well socialized dog that can and will love a game of chase and will be a great role model for Hunny
A home that is not in the hustle and bustle of inner city life so thatHunny can enjoy a walk away from busy streets while she builds confidence around traffic
A home where Hunny will have someone that has the time and the patience and definitely the love of Goldies and all the fun and joy they bring
We have not tested her with cats but feel she could be ok with dog savvy cats
We feel children under the age of 10 will be too rowdy and probably scare Hunny in her new home ( Obviously some are an exception) so we are seeking a home that if children in residence we seek loving kind and mature gentle children with dog experience
