BENTLEY is looking for his own family
18 mths, 40 kg Desexed Male French Mastiff
(Dogue De Bordeux x Neo)

This young man has had a very rough start to life, he was quite shut down when we first met, had very little to no exposure to our domesticated world, hardly any human contact, if any at all, although this is now far behind him. He is now toilet & house trained and is looking for a family that has the time and patience to guide him through positive reinforcements so he can continue his journey in becoming a well balanced more confident dog

⚠️All dogs deserve to be given the opportunity to make a choice, to have the freedom to sniff around safely and to have their personal space respected so a Forceful or intimidating training approach is definitely NOT OK.

📝Bentley is mostly indoors but he does enjoy his time outside. so having access to the outdoor area whenever he needs is a must. His favourite past time is looking out the front fence watching the world pass by, and when he's done he likes to find the smallest bed to curl up on.😅 He's so funny!
His favourite food to mention a few... raw lamb ribs, chicken necks, chicken wing tips, and bully sticks, and you've won him over. 😁

His confidence has grown so much in the last few weeks, and he is more trusting of us. He's learning more about this BIG scary world - He is very curious and I can see he's enjoying the new experiences.

He likes his walks, he's good walking loose leash by your side... he loves to have a sniff, which is so important for them to have this time to sniff the doggie news :)
This activity can be very calming and a good stress relief when they are anxious. As we work with his socialisation skills, he can get a little worried and unsure when he sees other dogs but he is getting much better as he becomes more confident, his socialisation skills are improving. He also loves to roll and glide along the grass, commando style. 😅 So watch out for those nature strips 😅

Bentley doesn't care much for toys, or the ball, although I have seen him chase after a tossed up toy, so I'm sure it won't take him long to get the gist of it, but not all dogs need to play with toys

He is a very sweet and loving boy with a beautiful and gentle nature - A typical Mastiff character 🙂😊 He was very curious from week 1, following us around the house and yard - He is still a little shy and unsure on approach but that will get better as he learns to trust us more. He was quite anxious in the car the first few car rides but now he's able to relax and even fall asleep - He loves to stick his face out of the window and enjoy the breeze. So rewarding to see this transformation. 🥰🥰

He was in foster care with his Foster sister Chloe, who has now found her forever home... they have enjoyed their time, play, and running around together but now it's time for Bentley to find his own forever family to call his own.

Bentley is unsure of other dogs, but he is learning as we continue to build on his socialisation skills with group walks to help him build more confidence being around other dogs. When properly introduced, Bentley is fine around other dogs - he is very respectful and gentle. He now has two doggie friends Kobe & Coco, and met another, and is learning to play 🥰🥰

He is still learning to be a dog but we can already see what a difference it has made to be around another canine in the home. He has learnt so much from Kobe, what to eat, how to play, and run around. He is also very respectful and gentle once introduced.
He will need a confident owner who will continue this work with us to build on his socialisation skills

⭐️Another more mature well balanced dog for Bentley to learn from would be great too

🐶 Good with other dogs when properly introduced
🐈 He is now calm when seeing the resident cat
🚗 Likes his car rides
⚠️ Socialisation skills with other dogs need improvement

⭐️Being a mastiff breed the Australian heat is not his friend so a home that will keep him cool indoor is a must.
