About Rosie
Rosie is only six months old and hasn't had the best life so far. She broke her back leg and was surrendered to us. Our vets operated to stabilise the fracture and allow healing. She has been in foster care with two adult German Shepherd for some months. The fracture has healed well and we now have the go ahead to increase her exercise, which she is loving. The vets expect Rosie to have a full recovery.
Rosie is a lovely little Shepherd who is very social with humans, but has not been tested with cats or pocket pets. She just loves lying on a bed near her humans. She is sleeping all night.
This young girl is a typical pup who needs humans who understand that she needs guidance and training to help her get back on her feet and learn the ways of the human world.
We recommend that Rosie is introduced to new things slowly, to reduce her being overwhelmed by too many new experiences, too quickly. Of course Rosie will need ongoing training.
She has a lot of energy so is looking for a home with an energetic person or couple, with dog savvy children, who understand the time, commitment and on going training she will requirement.
Rosie loves cuddles and would be best suited to a home where she will be an integral family member.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about Rosie"
Medical notes
Rosie is microchipped and vaccinated.
She currently has a 'juvenile' vulva which should fix up after her first season, so she will need to have at least one season before being desexed.
Rosie had surgery on her broken leg and is now recovering well.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
