About Mango
Mango has been waiting for a staggering 331 days for a home. That is almost a year that this gorgeous boy has been without a forever family. Now, while all of us here at The Lost Dogs' Home love Mango, we would prefer to love him from afar!
That's why we need your help!
Mango has all the skills - because he has been with us for so long, he has been lucky enough to spend an extra long time working with trainers to turn him into a Trick Master. He can sit, he can drop, he can bow, he can hop ... what a smart boy? With ongoing training and a commitment to growing his skill set he might soon rival the border collie for title of "World's Smartest Dog".
Do you want to know a funny fact about Mango? He ADORES watching nature documentaries on his iPad. Couldn't you just imagine yourself curled up on the couch on a Saturday night with your new best friend sitting right beside you, watching David Attenborough on Planet Earth with your new best friend Mango? What a dream!
Not only does Mango love watching nature documentaries but here is a list of his favourite activities;
- Treats: He loves his treat enrichment activities like puzzle games, snuffle-mats and kongs. Mango has a really keen nose and loves putting it to work. He may not be a great help in the kitchen, but that super-nose of his will mean he is sure to be the most efficient furry vacuum cleaner you've ever had.
- Quiet strolls: Mango loves his quiet strolls away from busy areas. You will see him trotting down the street taking in all the smells and sounds.
- Affection: Our big boy here just loves leaning against his favourite people for a gentle pat. He would love nothing more than to be showered with attention and affection.
- Tug-o-War: You think you're strong? Mate, you got nothing on Mango! He's been training his whole life for someone that wants to try and steal his title of Tug-o-War Champion of Victoria - have you got what it takes?
Now, not everyone is perfect. While Mango is almost there, he is still working on mastering the skills of not being a "bull in a china shop". He can be bouncy and exuberant so hopefully his new family can continue to help him learn that he is in fact a dog, and not a bowling ball. His wonderful trainers can tell you all about their secret tricks to keeping Mango relaxed.
Mango has won the hearts of so many people here at The Lost Dogs' Home that we are excited to continue to offer support any adopters for Mango through our post-adoption program.
Mango is currently only available for adoption Monday-Friday, but if you would like to have a chat about Mango prior to coming down please email us at adoptions@dogshome.com. If we have already sold you on this ipad-watching, tug-o-war winning, champion sniffer then come on down to The Lost Dogs' Home and adopt this gorgeous hunk of fruit today!
