SPECIAL NEEDS
Please read this bio in its entirety before applying for these two beautiful fur babies.
Demi came into care quite a while ago, she was terrified of people and being touched.
Over time and with much persistence she has improved ten fold but still needs someone special to work with her and show her love and understanding.
She wouldn't be in the same room with visitors but now comes out to see what is happening, you can see in her little face she wants to be a part of what is happening.
Over the months she has seen other fosters she had a bond with leave my home so it is for this reason she MUST be adopted with a dog she has that special bond with to help her to settle into a new home. That dog is Hector.
They adore each other and play all day, at night they both happily sleep on my bed.
When Demi is relaxed I will ""grab"" her to do her bath,monthly medication or just to cuddle her for half an hour. She used to shake but no longer does this, she knows I love her and when enough time has passed I release my hold and she goes back to her spot on the bed.
This is exceptional for her. She will come up behind me and lick my leg when I'm not looking so you can see it will be baby steps her, thats why she needs someone who will put in the work and not be disappointed if her progress is slow especially as she settles into her new home.
Demi is fully toilet trained and will use puppy pads in wet weather, she is great with cats as I have two.
Demi loves to chase toys and balls, she waits for me to go outside and have playtime, though she doesn't understand to bring them back.
She deserves a chance at a normal life and to have that forever home.
HECTOR
This little guy is a hoot, that's why he has been so good for Demi. He came into care and needed immediate surgery to create an opening for his urethra as he didn't have one.
He is now a healthy happy little guy though his toilet training is a work in progress, he has access to areas with carpet and hasn't done his business on there which is great, though he does still have accidents on the tiles, he does go outside and use the grass but he hasn't quite grasped what puppy pads are for which I use especially in wet weather.
He loves to bark at the cats as I he wants them to play with him, he his being taught not to bark but he is still a puppy and learning the ropes.
He loves my 22 month old granddaughter and gets excited when she arrives.
""Hecky"" loves a cuddle and to nuzzle into your neck but in saying that he is quite the independent boy.
If you think you are the right fit for these beautiful fur babies keep in mind that THEY ARE NOT TO BE SEPARATED under any circumstance for any reason, so if one doesn't work out for your family then they both must come back to us.
