Kiari is a stunning Japanese Akita mix who embodies loyalty, resilience, and respect. She has a calm and loving demeanor, making her an ideal companion for a patient and caring family.
Although 5 years old, Kiari is still a big, goofy puppy at heart, overflowing with love and playfulness. She loves pouncing on her toys and throwing them around, trying to catch them in her mouth, giving everyone a good laugh! She thrives when she is around her humans, whether that be a game of tug-o-war, or curling up on the couch for a cuddle; she’s never far from your feet.
Kiari has previously lived with a toddler, showcasing her adaptable, gentle and patient nature.
Experience with this breed is highly favoured, as Akita’s can be infamously stubborn and intelligent, but once you’ve earned her trust, her loyalty knows no bounds. Gaining Kiari’s trust is the key to forming a strong bond with this loyal and gentle girl. Spending quality time with her, offering patience, consistent care and positive reinforcement will go a long way. Show her love, understanding and respect, and you’ll earn her insurmountable loyalty and devotion in return.
Kiari is seeking a home with a family who will appreciate her playful spirit and are ready to give her the love and attention she deserves. A home with a cosy spot on the couch, daily walks, and ample room for playtime opportunities would be a dream come true for Kiari!
Kiari walks well on lead and is making steady progress with her obedience; daily exercise and consistent training are essential for her mental and physical wellbeing. Kiari does not howl or bark excessively, in fact, she’s quite quiet and non-reactive to noises. Of course, this would need to be maintained with positive reinforcement and training.
Kiari is currently living in foster care with two other dogs. She is sociable and playful with other calm dogs, but would be happy living as an only dog, or with another suitable dog companion.
These looks don’t come without some hard work! To keep up her good looks, Kiari has specific grooming needs that require attention and care. Her new family should be prepared to invest time in maintaining her double coat and keeping her well groomed. This means regular brushing, and maintenance of ‘blowing her coat’.
If you have experience or extensive knowledge of Akitas, and you’re ready to offer a loving, patient, and committed home to Kiari, you'll find a devoted companion in her, ready to fill your home with love and joy. Apply to adopt Kiari to discover the wonderful world of Akita companionship.
