About Bella
Profile and needs in a home
Bella is a maltese x poodle who is very loving and loyal girl who loves attention, cuddles, cuddling up on the lounge, tummy rubs and being brushed.
In her previous home Bella received little or no socialisation in the outside world so can still be sensitive to new experience/environments however with a little reassurance from Nicole and her dogs she is ok.
She has been on a learning curve since coming into our care and has come along in leaps and bounds for her with her wonderful carer Nicole using only force free reward based training methods and mental stimulation.
As Bella is still a little timid/unsure of new people and environments
she will take a few days to settle into her new home but once she does
will become your shadow. We are therefore only looking for a home that
will be patient and kind and allow her time to settle and will not be looking to overwhelm Bella.
As with all our dogs, Bella must have access inside and out at all times and be permitted on the lounge. Additionally, Bella must be permitted to sleep in the bedroom of a night (not necessarily on the bed)
Bella enjoys her long walks and gets very excited when she sees her leash and harness. Bella is becoming more confident everyday socialising with people and other dogs on her walks.
We are looking for a reasonably active home who will take Bella out and about at least twice a day for long walks to continue her socialisation and training in the outside world whilst not overwhelming her.
Whilst she is progressing well with basic commands, her new owner will need to be committed to ongoing training so that Bella will continue to develop into the bestest version of herself that she can be. Support will be given to her new owners with her training regime.
After a morning walk she loves a nap and once well rested afternoon
time is usually zoomy time and tail chasing time.
She does have a coat that will need regular brushing and grooming so
an owner that is committed to this is important.
Bella is living with two other small dogs in her foster home and looks to them on walks for confidence and reassurance so we would prefer Bella to go to a home with another small young robust dog or two who is up for a romp and play.
Bella seems to have more time for humans than dogs in the home so maybe ok as an only dog provided her new owners were home most of the time and had other dogs amongst friends and family to socialise and walk with so as to keep Bella moving forward with her socialisation.
If you would like to meet Bella please
send us some information on yourself and the home you are able to provide including your dog and other pets (if any), family members, lifestyle, exercise and mental stimulation you will provide, how often Bella
would be alone, where she will have access in the home, where Bella would go if you went away and could not take her with you, ability to cover vet expenses and any other information you wish to provide.
