About Pansy
Pansy is a delightful, well-mannered and placid young dog with an interesting backstory.
She was found on the side of a road in April 2023 by a Good Samaritan and brought into our care. Despite the deprivation she'd obviously suffered, she won everyone's heart with her sweet temperament and eagerness to please.
Sadly, Pansy wasn't out of the woods. She was diagnosed with a malformation of a hip joint and had to undergo surgery in July. The surgery proved to be very successful and now you wouldn't know there'd ever been anything wrong with Pansy. She has recovered so well that she is able to play with her friends, human and doggie, and run and jump. She's one tough, adaptable and resilient youngster!
Pansy walks well on the lead, enjoys playing with her friends but is also happy to snuggle up with you on the couch if you allow her to.
Her foster mum says, "Pansy has a beautiful face to match her beautiful heart, as well as gorgeous amber eyes with eyeliner that a super model would die for".
She is polite waiting for cuddles, doesn't jump up, has good recall and is happy to follow you around the house.
She likes snoozing in the sun - or on the couch in front of TV, especially if she has access to the remote!
A very quiet dog, her foster family haven't heard her bark since she's been been in their care.
Check out the video, where she's enjoying a walk at a local dam with her foster sister, Ripple.
Pansy's ideal home will have someone around almost all the time because she loves her humans and, especially in the early days, she gets a bit stressed if left alone. That will ease once she has her permanent home and the stability all dogs need.
If you are interested in meeting this lovely girl and can offer her a suitable, safe and loving forever home, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and/or there is another compatible dog or dogs for Pansy to play with.
As always, secure fencing is essential.
Pansy is available for interstate adoption.
Medical notes
Pansy had a femoral head ostectomy in July 2023 and has recovered exceptionally well. She is pain-free, fully mobile and her prognosis is very positive.
