Are you fostering a large and laidback dog who might be suitable to become a blood donor?
Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) in Ryde, Sydney, is calling for donor registrations for their in-hospital blood bank to help save other doggies' lives.
As a gesture of gratitude, SASH can offer a free large bag of food per donation, and complete blood tests once a year (complete biochemistry, complete haematology and heartworm test).
Donation days are a special event - donor dogs get extra attention from all the nurses, extra treats, and anything that helps them to feel comfortable in the veterinary environment. Donors are also often thanked for in SASH's social media pages and receive a collar saying "I save lives" every time they donate.
Bigger dogs (over 25kg of body weight) with calm personalities are ideal candidates, though any dogs that weigh more than 14kg are welcome.
Please get in touch with SASH Blood Bank Manager Viviane Raymundo vraymundo@sashvets.com to find out more and to register for the program.
