Five tips to max your cats’ campaign prospects
Pimp those profiles!
Give your existing profiles a good polish by COB Wednesday 25th October, making sure the focus is on what the cat can offer the adopter. What is it about this individual cat that someone could fall in love with? Ensure all profile details are up-to-date, including the cat's postcode and filter preferences (this is especially important for long-termers who were listed before the postcode and lifestyle search options were added to the site). If you have any mention of your cat's regular adoption fee in the description, pet's name or best feature section, remove these to avoid confusion with the specially marked $25 promotion. Great pics get clicks
Get your camera out, or find a volunteer or professional photographer willing to donate their skills to a great cause. A great pic makes a huge difference in catching an adopter’s eye, and capturing their heart. Videos are fab too! Read how to snap a great cat photo.
Incoming!
Be prepared to man your inbox over the duration of the campaign. Channel your efforts into ensuring prospective adopters get a quick response, and get an extra vollie on board if need be.
Take this opportunity to try something new by simplifying the first steps of contact between you and a potential adopter. Consider taking phone calls, or create a short email response to find out the basics about the adopter. Get the meet and greets happening as quickly as possible, then ask for the full adoption application form to be completed before the adoption is finalised.
The quicker enquirers can get a response and progress towards a meet and greet, the sooner your cats will find loving homes. For more advice on managing enquiries, click here.
Know your stuff
Some people wrongly equate love with money - but we know love is love. Be prepared to reassure enquirers who might query the idea of a reduced adoption fee. Let them know the discounted fee simply helps needy cats find loving homes quicker, which is vital with kitten season in full swing. All the usual adoption processes will still apply, to ensure a purrfect match. And don’t forget to let all your foster carers, volunteers and staff know about the promotion! List ALL your cats
If you have cats that are ready for adoption but aren’t yet listed on PetRescue.com.au, now is the time to get them added. We want as many cats as possible to be part of this awesome event and find loving new families!
