Thanks to your ongoing support, we’re able to keep innovating and finding new ways to improve outcomes for Australia’s homeless pets. Here are four exciting projects that your kind gifts will make possible.
PetRescue Matchmakers Project - A new adoption enquiry system
Around 220 pets are adopted via PetRescue every single day. But despite our very best efforts, there are still pets and potential adopters who are missing out on their perfect match. Our Matchmakers Project is dedicated to connecting all homeless pets with the loving homes they desperately need by developing a faster, more efficient and responsive online enquiry process. Not only will this be a huge help for busy rescue group volunteers who often struggle to handle the volume of pet enquiries, it will also ensure all pet seekers receive the timely response they deserve to progress their search for a pet.
Safe & Sound Pounds Guidebooks
Safe & Sound Pounds will be PetRescue’s major campaign for the duration of 2015/16 and its mission is a bold one. Check out our plans to get every single pet who needs a home listed on the PetRescue website, and create a future where no pet is ever at risk of being killed at the pound due to homelessness.
Tinder-style PetRescue app
Many of you have been asking if and when the PetRescue app (which predates the current PetRescue website) is getting a makeover. So we’re super excited to announce the revamp is on its way and will be bringing a totally awesome, Tinder-style way of finding unconditional love and saving lives from your mobile.
Library resource for rescue organisations
Now we have the new public library up and running, we’re also working on the development of an online library to offer support and advice to all 1000+ member rescue groups, shelters and pounds. This will give rescue leaders, managers and volunteers a central place to find the latest best practice in animal welfare and tips to make the most of PetRescue’s free pet adoption tools and services.
