Big Ideas Session - Event Info
Day 1 - Tuesday 8th September (2.5 hours) - IDEATE!
Overview
Teams will receive the event brief and problem space outline from PetRescue via a video call (Google Meet). There’ll be time set aside for questions and in addition, a conversation space in Slack for continued support by the PetRescue team to answer any questions from teams. The remainder of the day is set aside for the teams to ideate together. Mentors will be available for questions and support throughout the day.
Pre-event checklist:

✅ Teams have access to their own private discussion space in Slack where they can organise their own video breakouts as required
✅ Teams will have the link for the welcome video session (Google Meet)

At the end of Day 1, teams will have:

Day 2 - Wednesday 9th September (2.5 hours) - LAND IT!
Overview
Day two will kick off with a video call to recap the goal for the day. The rest of the day is set aside for the teams to land the final idea that they’ll be pursuing together and obtain feedback and guidance as required. Mentors will be available for questions and support throughout the day.

At the end of Day 2, teams will have:
🏁 narrowed down to one landing idea which they’ll be developing as a proof of concept, and
🏁 agreed on the plan on what is being built as the proof of concept and how to pitch it in a presentation.
Day 3 - Thursday 10th September (2.5 hours) - BUILD IT!
Overview
Day three will kick off with a video call to recap the goal for the day along with a reminder of where to find templates as required. The rest of the day is set aside for the teams to build their proof of concept and record their pitches ready for submission by the cut-off time. Mentors will be available for questions and support throughout the day.

Checkpoint - Day 3
At the end of Day 3, teams will have:
🏁 created their proof of concept and included details in a pitch deck
🏁 recorded their pitch submissions and
🏁 submitted their team presentations and video recording via Slack
Submissions close at midnight (AWST) on Friday 11th September to allow for any technical difficulties and fair flexibility for the teams to be able to submit by the same deadline. Participating teams will be able to view all of the submissions as they come through.
Judging for the Big Ideas Hack session will be conducted during the weekend of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th. Winning ideas will be announced during the following week.
