5 reasons why pets make you happy
It’s International Day of Happiness, and here at PetRescue, the one thing that makes us the happiest (happier than cake, which we LOVE)... IS PETS! Our hearts are always beating for all kinds of precious paws and adorable faces, all day, every day.
Don’t have a pet? Here are five reasons why pets make you the happiest:
They’re always there for you
No matter who walks in or out of your life, there’s one face that’s always there to welcome you home. Your pet will stick by you through thick and thin, no questions asked. They’ll be your cuddle bud for when you’ve had a bad day, or binge bud for a late night Netflix marathon. A pet is in your corner for life.
They keep you active
One of the best things about having a pet? You’re forced to put your legs to work! Having an active pet means kissing the couch potato life goodbye, and saying hello to fresh air and sunshine. And yes, running after your pet does count as cardio.
Pets can reduce your stress levels
We don’t say this, science does. According to research, having a pet helps you handle stressful situations with greater ease. Stroking your pet can actually help lower your blood pressure, and playing with them releases feel-good chemicals in your brain such as dopamine and oxytocin, which are known to trigger pleasure and happiness.
They are the ultimate source of comfort
Too many files piling up on your desk? Your favourite dress won’t fit anymore? We guarantee you a hug from your pet will brighten your day faster than the morning sun.
Pets are a constant source of entertainment
Grab your camera and start filming. Pets contribute to some of the funniest home videos with their hilarious antics, and you’ll never ever get bored of watching their curiosity spark!
Have we convinced you? Hurry up and find your best friend for life.
