Schnauzer Rescue Queensland Inc (SRQ) is a small, dedicated, volunteer‑run Not-For-Profit rescue organisation specialising in the ethical rehoming of schnauzers across all three breed sizes. For more than 13 years, we have supported families through the difficult decision to rehome their dog, ensuring every dog is placed in a safe, loving, and carefully selected home.
SRQ is operated entirely by unpaid volunteers who are deeply committed to the welfare of schnauzers. Collectively, our team personally owns 17 schnauzers, giving us hands‑on experience with the breed’s needs, quirks, health considerations, and behavioural traits. Over the past 10 years, we have successfully facilitated approximately 150 rehomes and assisted rehomes, many of whom we remain in contact with today.
Our work is grounded in compassion, transparency, and professionalism. We understand that surrendering a dog can be emotionally overwhelming, and we are here to support you through every step of the process. SRQ provides a respectful, confidential, and structured rehoming service. When you surrender your dog to us your privacy is protected — all details are handled discreetly and confidentially.
We know surrendering a dog is a significant and often emotional decision. Our role is to make this process as supportive, respectful, and reassuring as possible. Our aim always is to place the dog in the best possible forever home.
