About Upper Lachlan Shire Council
The adoption process at the Upper Lachlan Shire is relatively easy. We ask that if you are interested in an animal, please apply via pet rescue, the Shelter staff will then review applications and phone selected applicants for a meet and greet. We do not take expressions of interest over the phone.
Once you have been selected as the right applicant for the animal, all that is required by you is to make a payment at the Animal Shelter by eftpos ONLY (Via phone can be arranged after a meet and greet with the animal), provide details for the microchip and registration paperwork and then pick up your future pet from the Council veterinary service provider once they have been de-sexed and vaccinated, if not already desexed and vaccinated (Council staff will advise you when the animal is booked in at the veterinary clinic.
The following are the re-homing fees for dogs and cats,
Entire Dog (to be desexed after adoption) - $500.00
De-sexed Dog (de-sexed by previous owner) - $300.00
Entire Cat (to be desexed after adoption) - $300.00
De-sexed Cat (de-sexed by previous owner) - $200.00
Entire Dog( to be desexed after adoption) 8years or older - $250.00
De-sexed Dog (de-sexed by previous owner) 8 years or older - $150.00
Entire Cat (to be desexed after adoption) 8 years or older - $150.00
De-sexed Cat (de-sexed by previous owner) 8 years or older $100.00
The following is included with all sales,
Microchipping (identification details will be placed on the NSW Companion Animal Register)
Lifetime Registration (within NSW)
Vaccination
Worm, flea & tick treatment
Vet Check
De-sexing (if required)
Adoption pack
Please Note: All dogs and cats rescued from the Upper Lachlan Animal Shelter are required to be de-sexed. Dogs and cats will not be sold as entire under any circumstances.
If you are enquiring for a dog and your household has children, dogs or cats please notify the animal shelter.
We are unable to test our dogs with children, but we can do limited testing around cats and other dogs.
Upper Lachlan Shire Animal Shelter is open ONLY via appointment.
