Our Mission: To protect the Individual Dobermann and the Breed through responsible and careful rehoming practices under the law, and within the expectations of the public.
We understand sometimes home circumstances change and that means your Dobermann may become destructive being left for long periods of time.
We create a successful transition program for Dobermanns to remain integral to the process remaining central to our efforts.
By using scent training in preparation for the new home, and in conjunction with the new home, we work within the Pack Leadership Structure required of all new NHFD Dobermann homes, providing success.
If you need to rehome a puppy under 4 months old, please do speak with your breeder. Reputable breeders engage a purchase contract which gives them the first right of ethical refusal of puppy returns. These breeders have integrity in protecting each Dobermann and the breed itself. Don't fall for the Driveway Warranty, be diligent and ASK!
Please see Dogzonline for reputable breeders who DNA test their litters and who also have a return policy for life for each Dobermann they breed. Be diligent!
We solely focus on the new home and the Dobermann's needs, to ensure we find a forever home. We do not discriminate on where the Dobermanns come from and understand it is not easy to give up a Dobermann no matter the situation.
Who we work with
We save dogs from Pounds, work with rescue groups, private families and respected Breeders, who are all devoted to finding the most appropriate homes.
We protect it through ensuring the Dobermann Breed does not end up on the Dangerous Dog list (through Back-Yard-Breeders, and irresponsible Breeders, and irresponsible owners).
We work with trusted Dobermann Behaviorists, councils were needed to secure the dog's safety through the work of our committee and avid supports.
Please go to our site, https://nhfd.site/ and choose the ADOPT icon and fill in our online form, quote the number of the Dobermann #000#00#00### (i.e.) you are interested in, and upload the corresponding photos per the form.
We follow up with an email or phone call, to discuss your application and build a relationship with you so we get to know your needs and that of the Dobermann we may have in mind for your situation.
We will do a home check before we approve the adoption and a second phone call/facetime to finalize any outstanding questions you or we may have.
We will ask for your vet's name and contact details as a reference.
Once we approve the adoption, the fee is paid, and we generate the paperwork in compliance with local councils and registration pertinent to each state where the approved home is.
We support with behavioral training for your new arrival and to best suit the breed. Even if you are a Dobermann parent for years the latest information containing current day Dobermann bloodlines and temperament is very helpful and reliable information, for you and for the Dobermann.
