About

Pawfect Pals Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to rehoming companion animals who can no longer remain in their current situation, as well as those facing the threat of unnecessary euthanasia.

Our team is made up of outstanding and knowledgeable volunteers, who work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and find the very best forever homes for each animal in our care.

All of our animals live with a foster family while they wait for that special someone to come along. This means they get to experience life in a loving home, and we get to know them inside out! During this time, they receive all necessary veterinary treatment, including desexing, microchipping, vaccinating and worming.

  • Chase

    Border Collie x Kelpie

    Gentle and Well Mannered!

TO MEET OR ADOPT CHASE, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/ Chase is a lovely young pup of approximately 8 months. He is a border collie x kelpie, with the gentleness of a BC in combination with the quiet, stoic nature of a well-natured kelpie. He is a well mannered dog for his age and is very gentle with people and dogs alike. He adores the two year old human that he is living with and they enjoy taking rambling walks together about the property. Chase is a very intelligent pup and learns very quickly under instruction. With very little guidance he is able to work out what he is being told and to adjust accordingly. If left to his own devices he is very inquisitive about his environment, and like most pups, he will make his own fun when bored! So far, Chase has always had another dog for company. He would do very well in an environment with an older dog for company. He is currently the shadow of an older male dog and we have noticed that he takes his cues from the older dog. The constant doggy company has helped him settle well into foster care. We believe he has come from an environment with multiple free ranging dogs. Chase is a friendly, biddable pup who rolls onto his back for tummy pats (a trait he is reducing with training). He enjoys chew toys, a gentle game of tug and exploring his environment. He is very eager to please but is not expressly needy about it. He does enjoy rubbing his body along your ankles, very similarly to a cat. Chase has demonstrated light herding abilities on other dogs, but is largely nonplussed about chasing chickens, horses or kangaroos. He would likely be easily rehomed with a cat (though not tested yet). Chase would do well in a home with people who have the experience and drive to help him live up to his potential. He is an extremely intelligent, easily trained pup who will thrive at agility, fly ball or obedience.

  • Tucker

    Kelpie

    Active Older Gentleman

TO MEET OR ADOPT TUCKER, SUBMIT AN APPLICATION: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/ Tucker is a fabulously friendly ex-farm dog. His days of running on the backs of sheep are over and he would love a great retirement with a wonderful family. Being an ex-farm dog he would love to retire with a family where he can be with you and be a part of your life as well as enjoy a bit of gentle exercise at his pace. He LOVES pats and cuddles. His dream would be to have an older family who were home the majority of the time and to have a doggy friend to show him the ropes and keep him company if the family goes out. He doesn’t really understand about basic commands such as city folk expect but he understands to go on his bed. He also would prefer a home where there were only a few stairs. Tucker is mostly fine on the lead and he learnt his name immediately when he came into care. He is fascinated by cats. This can be daunting for your feline friend, but can be managed with a bit of time and patience. This gorgeous dog is full of joy and looks forward to what every day can bring. Can he look forward to spending his days with you and his new doggy friend?

  • Tiny

American Staffordshire Terrier x Bull Arab Mix

    Tail is for Wagging

TO MEET OR ADOPT TINY, PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/ Tiny is a sweet and very affectionate dog who would like a forever home with people willing to give her lots of love and attention. She loves to go for walks or snuggle with her people. Her tail doesn't stop wagging unless she's asleep and she's always eager for a pat. Tiny wants nothing more than to be part of a family. Her focus is on her humans so given the choice between playing with another animal, chasing a ball, or getting a snuggle from a person, she will always choose the snuggle. This young girl doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. She is a dream to walk or run with. She gets along well with other dogs although she's still learning how to play. Tiny would be best suited to older kids as she's still learning not to jump up when she wants attention, and can be a little excitable around people She's happy to go for long drives and doesn't grumble or fuss in the car. Grooming is easy and low maintenance, as her fur is very short. She's happy to be given a bath and loves being brushed although she doesn't need it much. Because her fur is so short, she prefers to sleep inside on cold nights and would like a forever home where she always has a warm bed to curl up in. Tiny doesn't like to be left alone for long but she's fine to stay home when you go to work or for errands and outings. She is toilet trained but requires all the usual obedience training so she'll get to know the rules in her new home. She's smart and a fast learner but she hasn't had much experience with obedience training yet. Her love for treats and her desire to please will definitely go a long way in teaching her everything she needs to know to be a really good dog. Could Tiny be your new Pawfect Pal?

  • Sasha

    Border Collie x Greyhound Mix

    Super Affectionate

TO MEET OR ADOPT SASHA, PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/ Meet the gorgeous, long and lovely Sasha. What a sweet, lovely lady this girl is who has SO much love to give. Sasha is super affectionate, and will go wherever you go as she just wants to be with you and it is very hard to say no when she looks up at you with her soft brown eyes! With not a mean bone in her body, Sasha is brilliant with other dogs, kids and all people. She travels well in the car and has fantastic recall. Sasha would make a brilliant family dog and whilst she can keep up with an active family, she is also just as happy to lie by the fire or at your feet after a good walk or run. Sasha is still learning to control her excitement when you have been away and can jump up so due to her size may not be suited to families with small children and whilst she is very friendly, she is a little too friendly with cats so needs to be in a cat free home! Since she is such a social girl, she would benefit from living with another doggy friend. This girl is one of the most loyal and loving dogs you could meet, could you be the lucky one to receive all the love she has to give!

  • Boz

    Great Dane x Wolfhound Mix

    Special Home Needed!

TO MEET OR ADOPT BOZ, PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/ Boz is a special needs boy. Until coming into care with Pawfect Pals, I doubt he had ever experienced anything kind in his short life. While Boz loves other dogs, and has learnt to be a good boy around chickens, he will still sometimes bark and chase the cows. He has great recall if you can whistle. Therein are the simple facts about Boz. Now, to his more complex issues. He is fearful of people, particularly if they are unknown. Men or women.....doesn't matter, though I think children would be fine, as his first carer had a child who loved to cuddle him. With time he is developing some trust, but at this stage never completely lets down his guard. He can even sit, but only ever at a distance. He can even bark at you if he is intimidated, but has no bite in him. He will come in at night, if allowed to do so at his own pace, and will lay on his bed and sleep all night....he is house trained. Once he is settled you can even get him to lay with you on the couch and he will enjoy a cuddle. At times when outside, he whines, as he fights his own inner demons while at the same time wanting to come to you. He loves playing with other dogs and loves toys and visiting the dam, to plonk himself down and cool off. He likes to steal underwear and shoes, which may or may not get chewed. He follows behind you outside and paw at your legs, but then retreats when you turn around. He runs joyously to meet you at the gate when you come home, and will lick your hands and kiss your face, but still maintains his safety zone. He can be scared of the lead, and of getting in cars, but once in, is quiet and well behaved. It breaks my heart that such a young dog can be so broken, and yet I believe, with time and patience, he will find peace with himself. Boz will need a quiet home, preferably in a rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia. He will be available only to a home with lots of experience, and if that home is not available, he will stay with his carers. It is very easy to lose your heart to Boz. x
