About

Greyhound Adoption Program NSW

The Greyhound Adoption Program (NSW), Inc. is a non-profit organisation, incorporated with the NSW Department of Fair Trading, which is dedicated to the welfare of Greyhounds. We are also a charity. Our primary purpose is to educate the public on the benefits and care of Greyhounds as companion animals, and to find permanent loving homes for these beautiful hounds. We rely on memberships and donations for our funding and do not accept Greyhound Racing industry funds.

  • Tessa

    Greyhound

    Looking for love

Racing name: Jessie Skeeta Whelped: Nov 2011 Sex: female Colour: black Weight: Currently attending Jenny Craig.... Cat tolerant: no Available: now Tessa has been retired & living as a house pet for the last three years. Unfortunately she was recently returned to GAP due to unforeseen changes in family circumstances. She previously lived with an elderly Chihuahua & gets on well with other (low energy) dogs that she knows. Tessa is used to being an indoor dog with human company much of the time & is very calm & relaxed around the home. Her ideal home would be with a single person or couple or perhaps a family with older children (15+). She has been living the good life & is currently on a weight reduction diet to get her back into shape. Tessa comes with two large dog beds & her favourite toys. All our foster dogs are protected from fleas & ticks with NexGard®, kindly donated by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.

  • Gidget

    Greyhound

    Looking for love

Racing name: Marlow’s Babe Whelped: Jan 2012 Sex: female Colour: black Weight: 25kg Cat tolerant: not tested Available: NOW Gidget is a petite, sweet natured girl who has settled into pet life with ease. She loves to meet new people with a big grin & would equally suit a retired couple or a family with slightly older children (7 years plus) who are not too rowdy. Her foster carer describes Gidget as being very chilled and affectionate. She enjoys her daily walks, and loves to meet all dogs, both big and small. Gidget could easily live with another calm dog or be happy as an only pet. Gidget is sponsored in memory of Alice in Wooferland. All our foster dogs are protected from fleas & ticks with NexGard®, kindly donated by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.

  • Henry

    Greyhound

    Looking for love

Racing name: Body and Soul Whelped: May 2013 Sex: male Colour: black Weight: 37kg Cat tolerant: no Available: NOW Henry is a big, handsome lad who, along with some of his litter brothers, was quite successful on the race track. While he much prefers the comfort of indoors – he’ll shoot inside the moment the back door is opened – he is also quite accepting of being left outdoors in a shady garden for a few hours at a time. Henry is no picky eater - he inhales his breakfast & dinner in a split second. His favourite treats are chicken necks & pig’s ears. He walks well and greets other dogs nicely on lead. Henry would be best suited to a single pet household with adults only or a family with older children 15 years plus). Apartment living is not really recommended for Henry – he likes the open spaces of a secure yard to stretch his legs. However he does have one thing on his wish list – he’d love a couch to stretch out on at the end of the day.... Henry is sponsored by Laz Ivanovski. All our foster dogs are protected from fleas & ticks with NexGard®, kindly donated by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.

  • Quest

    Greyhound

    Looking for love

Racing name: Movealong Quest Whelped: May 2014 Sex: female Colour: white & black Weight: has recently joined Weight Watchers... Cat tolerant: not tested Available: now Quest has been a pet for the past 15 months. She has recently been returned to GAP by her pensioner owners, who also owned a middle aged Boxer. She really looks forward to her walks & rides in the car. Quest is used to having human company for much of the time, is very clean & is most definitely an indoor dog. She would be quite happy as an only pet. Her ideal forever home would be with adults only who have consistent house rules. Quest is currently on a weight reduction diet as she had been in a good paddock for the last few months..... All our foster dogs are protected from fleas & ticks with NexGard®, kindly donated by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.
