About Flynn
Flynn reckons that his all-day cuddles and hugs are the best way to keep you warm this winter. Flynn is a world champion cuddler. A cuddle from Flynn is full body contact with great enthusiasm and passion. He will nuzzle into your lap or chest while you scritch his shoulders and haunches. He will arch his back and waggle his bum from side to side. Heaven
Flynn is a very happy man in foster care. He loves the playtime with another male grey and is very respectful of his foster aunty, another older greyhound. He loves to play with his toys, tossing them about and using the squeaky toys to talk to you.
Flynn is happy with the company of the greys while his foster carer is at work. He can slip out into the yard during the day when he needs a pee. Otherwise he will sleep almost the entire time. Being an only dog at home alone is a bit uncertain but we are testing him.
Flynn is a champion at home but is a bit of a scaredy-cat outside in the noisy world. He is keen to go on his walks when its quiet but he doesn’t like busy areas or sudden noises. He has improved significantly but will need a quiet suburb or country area for his walks.
Flynn does love the car. He will happily jump in and settles immediately. He will snooze most of the journey and be very happy to chill on the back seat while you do your shopping.
When you are home Flynn will like to be in the same room as you but very happy to snooze while you are at the desk or reading a book. He sleeps on his own bed, and so far has taken no interest in the couch or human bed. Flynn loves visitors. Human and canine. Flynn does love his food. He will finish every meal and then survey the room to check if anyone else needs some help to finish theirs. He his learning that human food is not his and is much more polite while you have your dinner.
Flynn came to us in scruffy condition. With love and care he is now spotting a plush black coat and is quite a dashing figure. Unfortunately he did have a collision when racing and is sporting a couple of scars. Thankfully his racing career was very short and he gets to enjoy all the love and comfort as a pet now.
Flynn would be happy to live with another suitable dog or be an only dog. His owner will need confidence and patience to help him be more adventurous on his walks. Flynn will also need a yard to do his business.
Flynn has so much love to give.
No cats or small dogs

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
