About Ziggy
Ziggy is on the lookout for his new forever home (at no fault on Ziggy's behalf). His family had to return to New Zealand.
Ziggy will require a very special family to keep Ziggy happy, content and healthy. Ziggy is deaf, vision impaired and is also epileptic.
Ziggy is a 2 year old Koolie who has a very strong desire to work. It is in his genetics. Ziggy needs a family who will need to understand this desire and who will help with lots of physical activity and mental stimulation not to mentionlots of room to run around (a home with property would be perfect).
Ziggy would also benefit greatly with another dog sibling preferably one with high energy or another working breed of dog. This will help Ziggy burn off his energy and help to keep him happy and content.
Ziggy would also benefit from some form of dog sport like flyball, rally-o and carnicross (which Ziggy has already tried). Ziggy is currently attending obedience training. Ziggy is a very smart dog who learns very quickly.
Ziggy can sit, drop, do middle position, stay and wait. Ziggy is also boundary and bed trained.
Being vision impaired doesn't stop Ziggy his main problem with his vision is he can't see small movements so all hand signals need be big and clear (especially from a distance).
Ziggy's epilepsy has been well managed and Ziggy is currently on medication twice a day. Ziggy will need blood tests every 6 months to make sure his medication remains at the therapeutic levels.
Ziggy is great dog with the most amazing and loving nature. If you think you may be perfect for Ziggy please complete the adoption form below:
