💚🎀 MEET SCRUFF 🎀💚
Hi! My name is Scruff. Well, I don’t know if that is my real name, but I was given this name by a kind man that came to my rescue.
You see I was in a pretty bad way when I came into care. I’m not sure what happened, but I needed help. I saw a light on in a work shed so I headed that way, it took every bit of the energy I had left to crawl towards the lights, but as I got closer, I could see a fat tabby cat in the doorway, and I knew that I would receive help here. A very nice man took one look at me and popped me up on some soft towels and gave me some food and water, I ate a little, but I was so weak, after a couple of days the man realised, I needed more help than he could give me and contacted the Angels.
My foster Mum came for me straight away and I was taken to the emergency vets. Well, I had a great big abscess on my neck that had burst, my tongue was split and had big chunks missing out of it, I was emaciated, my beautiful tabby coat was severely matted, my condition was so bad my fur was just coming out in big chunks, I lost nearly all my fur!!.
I tell you what, it was touch and go there for a while, but I slowly came good and after quite a few months of convalescing, well here is the proof, just look at me now, I am gorgeous.
Nature
I am a quirky girl. When I came into care, I was so sick that my foster mum set me up in a comfy crate with everything I needed. As I got better, my foster mum opened up the doors of my crate so I could come out and explore the house and mingle with the other cats. My crate is my safe haven where I can come and go as I please. It has been quite a few months, but I still use my little house, as it gives me comfort. It would be very nice if my new home could give me a special area to sleep and eat so I can feel safe.
I love games! I have a bunch of toys that I keep close to me in my bed. They all get a right kicking and a toss it the air every day, well a few times a day hahaha.
I can still be a little apprehensive and shy. I love a good pat, but I must know that you are coming or I will get scared. Approach me from the front where I can see you and happily take as many pats as you can give!
I’ve finished my time on the streets, so I'd prefer a home where I can be an inside-only cat. I would love a secure cat enclosure or cat run though.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
My foster home has lots of cats and I get on well with everyone, but I do like to keep to myself. I would be best suited to a mature, quiet household with older children/teens and adults. I have not met any dogs yet, but if your dog is calm and cat friendly, I could live with them after a slow introduction.
Likes / Dislikes
I love my food (especially roast chicken!), I love a pat and game time, and I need to feel safe and secure.
My PURR-fect home would be a quiet home with understanding humans that will love me for who I am, quirks and all and understand that it may take a couple of months for me to settle into a new home. Somewhere I will feel safe, a home with lots of cat food and roast chicken, I love roast chicken. And could I please bring my toys with me, they would be lost without me.
