About 4017 - Sloan
🐾🧶MEET SLOAN 🧶🐾
Hey there, I'm Sloan. I am a very special little kitty, looking for an extra special home.
Nature
I am quite a boisterous little boy with a big personality. I love my foster family so much and can't get enough of their attention. I don't mind if you pick me up and smother me with kisses, I will pay you back with lots of love.
Companions (Children/Cats/Dogs)
I don't like being alone and I love everyone. I will need to be in a single cat home until I am at least 18 months old, so I will need a family who are home a lot to keep me company.
I think little kids may not be ideal, as I tend to get excited very easily. Older kids that understand my needs would be ok though. I haven't met any dogs yet, but if you have a very calm, cat friendly woofer then I think with a super slow introduction we could be friends.
Likes / Dislikes
I love soft beds and soft toys. I wish I could play all day long!
As I am a little unsteady on my feet, a smaller home, or a smaller enclosed area for me to explore would be ideal. And no steps please.
My PURR-fect forever home would be a quiet home with someone special to give me plenty of time and attention, someone who is home a lot as I love having someone to keep me company.

4017 - Sloan
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby
DOB: 13/10/2020
Adoption Fee: $150 Corona Special Price
*Sloan's adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment
Medical Notes: Sloan likely has cerebellar hypoplasia where his cerebellum did not develop fully, and as a result he has some coordination issues. When he requires more concentration for tasks his condition gets more noticeable, so things like eating and cleaning himself require some assistance. The vet predicts his symptoms will not get any worse, and as he gets older he’ll learn to cope with them better.
Sloan has previously had high levels of the feline corona virus detected in a blood test, this is a common virus that cats are exposed to. Cats that contract corona virus are generally asymptomatic or have mild diarrhoea. There is a small chance that corona can mutate into feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Due to the high blood levels, Sloan is at higher risk of FIP developing. Risk can be reduced by making sure Sloan has regular health checks and vaccinations, high quality nutrition, and attempting to keep the environment as stress free as possible. There is only a developmental treatment for FIP currently and most cases are fatal. Dogs and humans are not at risk of transmission of this condition. Sloan could be shedding the virus and could pass it onto other cats he comes into contact with, and they are then also at risk of developing FIP, so he needs to go to a home with no with other cats under the age of 18 months until he is above this age. He also needs to be an inside only cat to not come into contact with other cats until he is 18 months of age. After 18 months old, the chances of developing FIP decrease significantly.
