About Pippa
Pippa would make a good music groupie. She’s beautiful, supportive and LOVES a good roadtrip. She dreams of trips to exciting places; the café, the beach, the park – the possibilities are endless. Jumping in the car to set off to a new destination brings Pippa an insurmountable amount of joy.
We aren’t sure she has the energy levels to be a groupie though. She loves her daily walks and playing with her toys, but she gets pooped pretty easily and pants as though she’s run a marathon, only after a few laps of the yard. Pippa isn’t a fan of the ‘work hard, play hard’ rock star life. She values her beauty’s sleep far too much.
She can be a bit ditzy and doesn’t quite understand how to follow commands yet. Positive reinforcement and training will help her adjust. She’s also got zero road sense so caution around traffic is needed!
Pippa is a joyous presence around the home. As time passes her personality begins to shine a little more, revealing a sensitive, effervescent girl who has a never-ending appetite for pats. She seeks out cuddles at every opportunity, even mid walk she will lean against the walker for a quick snuggle. She gets along with other medium and large dogs well, no matter how grumpy they might be. Her happy disposition is a shining light to be around. It’s hard to feel down when Pippa is in the room.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
