About Bellissimo - Located in Preston
Bellissimo is a very special cat who has had a very hard start to her life. When she came into care, in November 2019, she was sick, terrified and with kittens in tow. She moved foster carers a couple of times, needing to find a quiet home for her to come out of her shell. She hid for the first 6 months in her latest foster home, terrified of humans and only coming out at night. She befriended another long term foster cat in the household and decided one day that it was time to come out and hang out with him while her foster humans were out and about. It was like a switch had been turned on and she decided that humans were okay! While Belle was in care, we did a story about her on the Maneki Neko Facebook page. You can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/nekorescue/posts/3961811037165829
In the last few months Belle (as her foster carers have nicknamed her) has come in leaps and bounds. She is like a whole new cat it's unbelievable. She has become quite ‘famous’ within Maneki Neko as well as at her regular vets and everyone is so impressed with how far she has come! She comes out for her night time pats, same time every night. She will come out in the open ask for pats, ask for her favourite treats and even does a little paw dance in joy. Seeing her lean into your hand for chin scratches will just melt your heart! Belle loves treats and will even do tricks for them, she is becoming very good at standing on her tippy-toes and doing a balancing act for them. She is very quiet, but as soon as her best buddy comes out she will chirp and chat to him until her heart's content.
Belle can only go to the most suited of homes as she is a unique girl. She would suit a quiet household with no children or dogs, although she would love a mellow older cat to be buddies with (unfortunately her best friend recently passed away and she is missing him dearly). Belle is a truly special cat and we (her foster carers) could have written a whole book about her. She deserves to go to the most loving home where she can continue to build up her trust because it is truly rewarding. If you would like to read more about her story, then please check out her “long term foster story”. Now that she has decided that she can trust humans, there is no stopping her now.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care. No health issues unless listed below
.She unfortunately had to have all her teeth removed due to bad dental disease. This will no longer be a problem for her and she is much more comfortable now. She has adjusted to this very well and eats both wet food and dry food (her choice to eat the dry food). it is also recommended that she stays on a Hills ID prescription diet, her gut has been damaged from when she was sick so she doesn’t cope well on regular cat food (she gets the runs).
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
