About Honey
Honey was previously listed for adoption as a bonded pair with Des. After a failed trial we have made the exceedingly difficult decision of rehoming them separately so that they may each find a forever home which we dearly want for each of them.
Honey is a 5 year old Siberian Husky female. She must be re homed as an only pet.
Huskies can be known to have a pack mentality and that is true for Honey. She is the pack leader and therefore will protect herself and Des if she fears they maybe under threat. At the dog park Honey will growl if a dog gets too close that she feels is a potential danger. Honey growling, as the pack leader, is the cause of the pairs return, on their most recent trial as a bonded pair.
Therefore we feel that Honey will be best suited to a home where she is the only pet. Honey is wonderful with people and she adores people. She loves the attention and affection people show towards her and in return you will gain her trust and love.
Information known about Huskies, through research, suggests that they are a breed that has a pack mentality, as does Honey. That they also have a high prey drive so strong, secure fencing is required. Huskies are known for their self determination and single-minded focus as well as being energetic and athletic so we are looking for an active home for Honey who will engage her mind and body to keep her thinking. She is an incredibly loving sweet girl who will absolutely thrive in a home environment.
Adoption details
If you are interested in one of our animals please phone or send an email to rescue@btcanimalshelter.com.au and we will reply as soon as possible.
A questionnaire will need to be completed which will allow us to ensure we are placing our animals into the right home. Once the completed questionnaire is received, we will respond by email / phone call to discuss the animal in further detail, and answer any other questions you may have. Please note that completing the questionnaire does not place you under any obligation to adopt. We can arrange a meet and greet for you (and existing pets) to spend some time with the pet and see if they are likely to fit into your life.
If you decide to adopt, payment is made and you can welcome your new pet into your life!
