About Sam - 2 yr mixed breed - On Trial 24/11/20
Sam is a beautiful, 2 year old mixed breed boy (maybe a Border Collie or Bull Arab mix). Sam is a gentle and sweet natured boy with large soft eyes that draw you in and then melt your heart.
Sam is a very shy chap who previously hasn't had much experience of the world beyond his yard. We are looking for a patient and loving person/family used to shy dogs, who will take time to help him learn the ways of the world. He needs understanding and a slow, positive introduction to new experiences. With love and care his new family will be rewarded with the most loyal and loving best friend.
Sam would like nothing better than to be by your side in the house most of the day. Once he has bonded with you he will look to you for direction and enjoys your gentle pats. He has nice indoor manners - he will settle on a comfy dog-bed to watch you potter around. He will lay with you and watch TV at night time - this is aboy that loves to be inside with his humans.
Sam feels more comfortable around women and gentle men so he’d suit a home with an experienced, adult couple with no children. If you are semi-retired, or your own two-legged kids have left home he may be a great match for you.
Please note that Sam is a medium to large sized dog and at this stage we don’t think an apartment lifestyle would suit him .
Sam is in care with a couple of medium to large adult dogs and he does enjoy having them nearby. If the dogs around him are relaxed he feels their positive vibes, therefore we feel that having a friendly, calm adult dog as a companion may help settle him into his new home. Sam can get spooked by loud noises and fast movements so being beside another calm and confident dog helps him to relax.
Sam would suit a home with someone home more often than not, although he may be OK if you have to go to work as long as he’s not isolated all day. When you have visitors, he will need a cosy and safe place to go to (like a quiet bedroom). Unlike many dogs his age he isn’t highly active and will be content with a short, quiet walk at this point in time - he may become more active as he grows more confident.
Sam is a sweet boy who is looking for a special person (or persons) to find his place in the world. To find out more please email us at rescuepooch75@gmail.com . Sam is in foster care near Mayfield NSW (Newcastle area).

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
