About Emilia
Adoption Fee: $180
Emilia is a real character. She generally warms to people pretty quickly and enjoys head bops, chin rubs and pats. She likes to sit and lay close to her people but is not a lap warmer as such and does not really relish being picked up (maybe something happened in her past that has resulted in this) however she is a great companion cat as she is always around. Emilia will chat to you. She also loves playing with toys and often gets the toys out of the box to chase them round on her own. She absolutely loves her food and will eat as much as she's allowed... which means you have to be a little careful with portion control! She is not a huge fan of other cats and will hiss initially - so while she is currently sharing a foster home with other cats, she would probably like a home where she is the only feline... she will however share space if she has to, as long as she can be the bossy one, haha. She is okay with the small dogs in her foster home so could share a home with a dog if it is polite and gentle with her and given a gradual introduction.
Emilia should be fine with older, respectful children but if they try to pick her up she will get her claws out; given this she will probably not suit a home with very small children who might want to over handle her.
When Emilia came into care she had a very nasty, deep open wound in her front right armpit, most likely caused by a collar that has caught around her leg and embedded into her skin. This has needed plastic surgery and is now healing nicely.
Emilia is a homebody who pops outside to use the toilet then comes straight back indoors. She would enjoy access to an outdoor enclosure or safe yard for supervised visits outdoors but should also do fine as an indoor-only kitty. This friendly, sweet girl will make a great addition to most homes.
