About Brandi ~ 2.5yr Old Wolfhound X (Trial 31/10/20)
Meet beautiful Brandi, a gentle and loving 2 1/2 year old female wolfhound x staghound x greyhound who is looking for her forever family.
Brandi is a laid back, easygoing dog who loves her people and will lean against you for pats. If given the chance would love to be your lap dog despite her size! She will be a great addition to an active family and just wants to join you on your adventures. She will happily go for long car rides for camping trips or hikes and loves her daily walk, or more often if you're willing! If your outing includes the opportunity for a swim in a dam or river then you will absolutely make Brandi's day.
When not out adventuring or on her daily walk, Brandi can be found lounging around with you or snoozing on her bed, but will happily wake up for a game of tug or to throw her kong around if you're willing. Her gentle nature means she is great with kids and has spent time around young children, however given her size, which is about halfway between greyhound and wolfhound, she would be best living with older children. A family with experience with large hound breeds would be ideal.
Brandi has grown up with another male dog and is friendly with other dogs that visit her regularly, however as she has not had a lot of socialisation outside her home she can be a little wary so requires a slow and controlled introduction to new dogs. Because of this Brandi would be best as an only dog, or would need a family with a calm male dog who is willing to put the time in to introduce them at Brandi's pace. Chickens, goats and cats don't worry Brandi, but she will chase larger animals (kangaroos and horses) so would not suit a home where she shares with large livestock. Because of her size Brandi needs high, secure fencing - those with rural fencing or mesh will not be successful.
Although she is used to living primarily outside, Brandi would love to be welcomed inside with you when you are home. She may initially need some encouragement and help learning the inside rules but her calm nature means she will quickly settle in. She is used to living with full time workers and can spend long periods on her own in her yard, but someone who will be home more to give her some love and attention would make all her dreams come true. She has all her basic training including sit, wait for food and shake, and is naturally a very well mannered dog, but sometimes things out and about can be very distracting and she forgets to come when initially called.
If you love the outdoors and are looking for a companion to share your adventures then Brandi is your girl! Her affectionate, gentle nature will make her a great addition to any family so if you think Brandi is your perfect match, get in touch!
