About Jack
We have learned a lot about this lovely boy during his time in foster care. The most important of which is what Jack really needs in a home.
1/ he is not suitable for cafes, pubs, dog parks or social gatherings where there will be other animals.
2/ he doesn’t need big walks, maybe early morning or late night strolls, he’s very happy at home, BUT needs a well fenced YARD with access to inside.
3/ he needs a home where people are home a lot of the time (as he has separation anxiety) and are happy to have his big bum sit on your feet.
4/ he needs to be kept away from other animals as he is dog reactive and is extremely strong on lead.
Can you help save this boys life, he needs a special home and a special owner.
JACK WILL BE IN URGENT NEED OF A NEW FOSTER CARER BY THE END OF JANUARY. WE DESPERATELY WANT TO ENSURE HIS SAFETY, IF YOU CAN HELP FOSTER THIS BOY PLEASE GET IN TOUCH, HOWEVER BEFORE YOU DO, PLEASE READ THE BIO DETAILS.
Jacks bio and trainer notes below
Jack is the cuddliest, and most loving pup. He loves having lots of people around, he is even calm around groups of noisy people. He will sit at your feet , actually on your feet, while you’re working. He’s happy to just be with his humans, and is comfortable snoozing on his own bed when there’s nothing to do. He can sit, shake, stay. He knows ‘bed’ and ‘off’. He is very good at recall. He doesn’t steal food. He is very quiet - does not bark or whine normally.
Jack does have separation anxiety -
He is also dog reactive - if he sees another dog, he pulls towards them with quite a bit of strength.
He has vastly improved in the time the carers have had him, he has also seen a dog trainer but he will still pull on lead if he sees another dog.
Jack is a very robust 30+kg dog and he does like to run around the house playing zoomies
Jack has a high degree of separation anxiety atm and if left alone, he can get so upset that he may chew and scratch at doors and frames, time and patience will be needed by his new owner to help him work through his anxieties.
Having said that, If you would like to spend time with the most companionable, cuddliest, goofiest dog, Jack Jack will complete you.
from his dog trainer....
Jack is a beautiful boy who will blossom in a home with a garden and dog experienced loving parents who are home more than not.
Jack had had a rough past being neglected and given poor exposure to other animals. He is loving his new life with training and patient humans.
He adores affection and will love you uncondtionally once he trusts you.
We have had a behaviorist evaluate him:
Jack has a beautifully nature underneath his fears. He is gentle and sweet in his safe environments and quick to learn. He needs to be in a controlled calm environment to help him with his training. He is not suitable in loud environments or apartments without access to quiet areas nearby.
I have helped Jacks foster carers with basic obedience training, crate training as well as loose lead walking and he is a star student.
The dog reactivity training can start once he is comfortable in his new home environment and his new family is up to speed with his current training - after approval and with the help of a trainer.
He is very scared of other dogs and not suitable to a home with ANY other pets of any kind.
⁃ Jack will need ongoing training to help him get re introduced to other animals, and this will take time, patience and help from a trainer is required.
Jack has seperation anxiety that will need to be worked on in his new home too and should not be left alone for long periods of time. It will not take long for Jack to be able to manage more on his own with the right people.
Jack has every chance to find his happiness.
Calm environment where routines can be set.
Very Experienced physically strong dog owners
Only dog/animal
Garden essential.
Owners that are home 90% of the time essential
