About Boots
This young man is one in a million. Boots is handsome, easy-going, friendly with dogs, cats and people and just loves life. He is much more like a dog than a cat, he follows you around, talks to you, snuggles next to you on the bed (even under the covers if it’s cold enough) and will follow a hand around all day if it’s offering to scratch him.
Young enough to still enjoy playing, he is otherwise an old sole. Just happy to be with his people. He is so far untested with children but we we think he would would be absolutely fine.
Boots has had some previous health concerns and now requires a special food (See below for medical history) but otherwise we think he would suit just about any household.
He really is the perfect cat, content to follow you around like a dog, sit with you while you watch TV, or play blanket shuffle if you are eager.
Boots has previously been an outdoor cat however the outdoor world is too dangerous for cats so since being in care he has been indoor only. He likes to watch the world go by outside the window but has adjusted very well to indoor life. He does need a family who is very strict and will not leave doors open for him to escape through.
If you think you can offer Boots the perfect home he deserves please fill out the adoption questionnaire below.
Medical notes
Boots came into care because he had a Urethral Obstruction. This is a very serious condition that means he was unable to urinate. This can quickly become deadly. Boots’ previous Owner loved him very much but was unable to afford treatment so he was surrendered. Initially he was very very unwell requiring around the clock care, a urethra catheter and a feeding tube. He has since recovered very well and there is no evidence of any long-lasting complications. Boots will need to remain on a special diet for life, with no treats, supplements etc, to try to stop this happening again. There is no guarantee that it won’t happen again but in most cats, as long as they are kept to the very strict diet, it is unlikely to recur.
Boots is now up to date with Vaccination (F3 and FIV), heartworm prevention, intestinal worming, and flea and tick preventatives. He is microchipped and desexed and will come with a bag of his special food.
