About Mia
Are you looking for a cute, sassy, voluptuous little lady in your life, well there is no need to look any further?
Hi, my name is Mia, I am a little lady who has found herself in care. My foster family says it is certainly not because of anything on my part because I am such a happy go lucky little lady with no bad manners that they have found.
I am currently in care with my 3 foster fur sisters and 1 fur brother who are medium to large breed dogs that I get along with famously. I have also had play dates with my foster Mum’s son’s two dogs with no issues at all and once they got over the fact that my nose is not like theirs and my breathing is quite noisy when I am excited we had so much fun.
Being the breed that I am yes, I do snore, but my foster Mum says not as bad as Dad! When I am excited or anxious my breathing does get quite noisy but when I am relaxed and feel comfortable it settles down.
I love hanging out with my fur crew, but I love to hang out with my humans even more and am a bit of a shadow. I am really an indoor sort of girl being the breed that I am, but I have unlimited access with the dog door when I do wish to go outside. I have good indoor manners and enjoy snuggling up on the lounge to watch tv but please be warned if I see any animals or dogs in particular on tv I will protect you and not let them come near you.
I love my food and am bit on the chunky side, but my foster Mum has been trying to help with that. I enjoy homemade slow cooked meals of meat, vegetables, brown rice, and pasta with a small amount of Black Hawk biscuits morning and evening, with the occasional raw chicken wing or Dentastix during the day.
It was a no brainer of where I was going to sleep when I came into care, I insisted from the get-go that it was to be between foster Mum and Dad. I am a good sleeper and sleep the whole night through.
I love children, they are so much fun, but they need to have the sense to know when to stop running around to avoid me overheating. I can swim, but with close supervision and a human in the water to assist me. I am not one to jump into the big pool on my own like my crazy fur siblings.
My foster Mum is not sure how I will be with other cats if they are skittish, her cats are used to dogs and are bigger than me. I do sometimes bark at them when they are in their enclosure but when I am face to face with them, I just sniff them and am a bit wary.
I sound perfect, don’t I? But with all of my perfection I do have one flaw, I can be a bit headstrong and not always listen when called, so my foster parents say that I they would not trust me to be off lead when out. But that is okay because I do enjoy walks and love car rides and try to jump into the car given any opportunity.
If you think that you can keep me in the lifestyle that I am accustomed too please submit an application so that we may get the opportunity to meet.

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby.
