Rocket is an amazing, affectionate boy who loves to stay around people. He's a big boy with the heart of a puppy, always willing to play.
Rocket is extremely smart and has the energy levels of the working breed dog, so a home on acreage possibly with another dog would be ideal for him (Rocket is not suitable for a home with a small yard).
Rocket is great with other dogs, he gets a bit excitable at first but never aggressive – he just wants to play! Rocket thrives on mental stimulation and would love agility classes to keep his mind busy. He also loves a good game of tug-of-war and fetching the ball). Once he has had his run around and play he is happy to chill out with you
He's well-behaved and gentle when not trying to get your attention, and learns tricks pretty quickly, always motivated by a good treat. He already knows how to sit, down, stay and wait and the list grows every day.
He loves to go for a walk around the neighbourhood or for a run if you are keen to burn some energy together. Two walks a day and some playtime (he loves a good amount to keep him relaxed the whole day. He will need a big-dog-savvy person to walk him or a good front harness or Halti as he can be quite strong pulling the leash. He gets super excited (but not aggressive) when he sees other dogs and needs some further training in this area. If you have other dogs in the house, he might need some time to adapt as he doesn't know his own size and strength and he's a goofy boy.
He's not suitable for a home with cats. Rocket is happy to hang out with you all day, just laying down by your side and if you work from home he is a great companion. He's super loving and affectionate. He is ok with water and doesn't mind going for a swim in the beach or in a creek, but he is not the greatest fan of a shower, even though he behaves well in the dog wash. He loves going for rides in the car and will stick his head out the window to feel the breeze.
Rocket loves children but older ones (probably from age 8 upwards) would be great as he does tend to jump up when excited and will need some extra training in this area.
Rocket loves to find a quiet place to lay down, but behaves calmly and relaxed when he comes inside to watch some Netflix with you. The ideal family for Rocket would be someone with a good backyard space (maybe another dog to keep him busy) and be happy to spend time with him giving love, attention and exercise. He is a big boy with a soft heart with lots of affection to give, and he's ready to be by your side for any adventure.
