About Gara
Hi I’m Gara, I am a gorgeous 4 year and 9 month old French Bulldog
My foster family have said that I’m an awesome cuddle buddy who is happy to chill when it’s quiet time and I love to play when it’s play time!
I do prefer to have company with either my foster humans or foster fur sister. They have called me their little shadow once or twice. My dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body. I am still working on being a big girl when new people arrive as I do get nervous but as long as people don’t rush me and let me get used them I’m all good.
My foster sister who is a big breed and I have a love and then a sometimes strained relationship – I forget that I am not the boss of the house and once in a while want to be. My foster sister usually just tries to sit on me when I start to muck up and ignores me. My foster dad says while I am cute and cuddly I can also be a bit bossy.
I have just had some surgery (man was that good) it has helped me with my breathing and my snoring – my dad says it’s no longer sounding like a truck is coming thru the wall but now it’s a soft purr. He says it’s especially good as I do love to sleep curled up on the bed with the humans each night.
I’m also a bit of a soft toy hoarder I like to stock pile them in a hiding place and then when no one is expecting I like to bring them out and play with them (sometimes they don’t survive the playing… oops) My favorite toy is a tennis ball – I looooove them – so if your happy to stock up on them for me to play with that will make me one very happy bulldog!
I have not been around cats and my foster family thinks I will be a cat chaser – I do like to chase the birds that come into the yard. I am child friendly but screaming kids or really high energy kids do make me nervous and I do not want to be carried around by children please.
I am a girl who enjoys the luxury of an indoor life and have great indoor manners. I do like to spend some time outside doing my thing so I would like to have the best of both worlds - inside and outside access when I want.

All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
