About Ginger Meggs ~ 3yr Old DSH (adoted 11/2020)
Ginger Meggs is our special boy! Ginger Meggs loooves attention and someone to play with him and pat him. He is 3 years old and not a big boy. Not only is he super handsome, so friendly and very playful, he is also deaf! This does not stop him from being like every other cat but does mean we are after someone exceptional to adopt him.
Ginger Meggs has not been surrendered because he is deaf. He has came into DRN care because his owner became very sick and he had no-one to look after him.
Being a deaf cat he does need extra protection and to be an inside boy only unless you have a cat enclosure or he is trained to be on a walking lead.
If Ginger Meggs is sleeping, he can’t be touched, he needs to feel you are there through vibration. When he wakes, he is delighted to see you and rushes over for some love. His carer leaves a light on for him so when he wakes he doesn’t feel disorientated.
Like all cats he can be a little shy when exposed to a new environment so just needs a little time to adjust but once he does you can’t help but adore this boy! He is so affectionate!
Ginger Meggs is in care with other cats and he has a calm male cat that is his mate so if you have friendly cat for him to hang with that is great but not a necessity.
We would like someone home with him part time so he doesn’t get lonely and someone happy for him to sleep close by. Young children will not be suitable for him but if you have a family with teenagers we are sure he would thrive.
If you are interested in meeting Ginger Meggs please email catsandkittensdrn@gmail.com. He is located at Belmont NSW (south of Newcastle NSW) and his adoption fee is $100, which includes desexing, microchipping and vaccinations. Ginger has also been treated for fleas and worms.

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
