About Ava
Hi, my name is Ava!
I am originally from Northern Queensland but have been shipped down to Brisbane to be welcomed by my new foster family. I love playing with my doggy foster brother but I am also pretty independent
and don't mind spending some time on my own.
I’m just nearly 2 years old and have a pretty good grasp on the essential pet doggy manners. I am toilet trained, can sit, walk on a loose lead and know when enough is enough. In terms of the more technical stuff, I could use some help. I think I would really benefit if someone taught me how to play fetch and tug, as well as work on my place training - just to name a few things I'd love to learn!
I do love a good long walk and I am great on the lead. My favourite thing ever is to go for a swim - I love to race and jump into the water!!
I don't quite know my own size so sometimes I frighten smaller doggies when I try to play with them - but I am learning quickly to respect their boundaries. I myself am a little hesitant meeting new dogs at first but quickly become comfortable and love to chase everyone around. My foster parents thing I have some Greyhound in me because I can run really fast, ultra-zoomies!
In the evening, I do enjoy a couple scratches behind the ear and a belly rub. My size won’t stop me from climbing up on top and smothering you for a snuggle. In fact, I love to sleep curled up in a tiny little ball - it's quite impressive considering my size usually! When it’s bed time, I don’t complain, just tuck me in and I’ll see you in the morning!
I am a joyful, playful girl who has lots of love to give. I'm looking for my forever home with a family who can continue my training, giving me the boundaries and structure that I need to succeed!
Adoption details
Please do not send an "Enquiry". Please instead follow the below steps:
Step 1: Fill in our application form with as much detail as possible - https://forms.gle/sPnL6QS2ik5A5XUR8
Step 2: If suitable, one of our foster carers will contact you via phone to further discuss the dog you have applied for and assess suitability. The same will also be done for other applicants.
Step 3: A meet and greet will then be organised so that you and the dog can meet.
Step 4: Once the meet and greet has been completed, if our team advises that you may be a suitable candidate you will then be required to submit a detailed written application (a template will be emailed to you) - we will then assess all applications and get back to you with an outcome. We may request a home inspection prior to finalising any application.
Dogs are offered for a trial period in new homes for 21 days before the adoption is confirmed.
No entire dogs will be re-homed under any circumstances.
