HAZEL IS A REHAB CASE
ONLY APPLICATIONS WITH ANOTHER SMALL TO MEDIUM GENTLE DOG WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Hello. My name is Hazel and I am a gentle pup.
I am a timid little girl with humans. Even though I trust my foster family, I am still learning that pats are okay... unless food is involved, of course. I love licking peanut butter and yoghurt from my foster mother's fingers and I always let her pat me under the chin while I lick her fingers. When I am in my crate, she gives me lots of pats too! My crate is my safe place and makes me feel safe and secure. I am very fortunate because my crate is in my foster mum's bedroom. Being an outdoor dog would not suit me at all.
There are lots of dogs of all ages and sizes in my foster home and I love them all. My very favourite is the younger little Jack Russell. He is my best friend and plays gently with me. Bounding around with the bigger dogs is a lot of fun too, but sometimes they are just a bit rough for a gentle girl like me. I am hoping that my new family will have a smaller dog who would be my new best friend.
I am not confident going for walks yet, but I do enjoy car rides and looking out the windows at the world passing by. Sometimes I can be a bit unsure about getting into the car, but once I am there, it's fabulous! I don't like to visit new places... just go for a leisurely car drive, peeking out the window. To be honest, though, I am a home girl. My most favourite pastime of all is being at home playing and relaxing with my doggy friends.
Being an older pup, I am house trained, of course. I am allowed in my foster home all the time and I am very well behaved. None of those little pup naughty behaviours from me! I prefer to snuggle up in the dog bed with my Jack Russell bestie and show my family what a good girl I am.
I like children, particularly the kind girl next door, but I would prefer to live with older children who won't zoom past me and scare me with loud noises. Do you have older children who will be kind with me and teach me?
Now it is time for me to find my very own family to love me. A family who will understand that I need time and love to develop trust and grow into the confident girl I can be.
Are you my very own, special family? I am really looking forward to meeting you.
Love, Hazel
