Hi friends,
My name is Maisie and I am a gentle, sweet girl looking for her new happy furever after.
I was surrendered into OTC care by my owners. It wasn't an easy decision for them, but their work took them to a different town, and sadly I couldn't go with, as the other dog at the house I was moving to, did not like me one bit! So Off The Chain stepped up to give me a new life. Since coming into care, I have been a dream to care for.
My exact breed mix is unknown; maybe a little arab? I am taller than a standard amstaff, but only weigh 26kg. But as you know, breed really doesn't matter- what's in my heart does! I am a total snuggle-bug, lap-dog and puppy-eyes food enthusiast!
I enjoy my morning walks and have even met cows and horses along the way. I was very curious but was happy to have my space... those things are huge! I have gone to the weekend markets a few times, and it is very exciting- but I quickly settle down and realise I am only going to get pats if I am quiet and well behaved. I have met a few dogs since coming into care, and get along fine with them. I am a really friendly girl who loves dogs. I currently live on my own with two adult humans, who I absolutely adore and follow around all day- however I have also lived with other dogs as well as human children and was great with them.
I am well house trained, and prefer to sleep inside at night, but will also settle with time if you'd prefer me to sleep on the veranda. Wherever a warm blanket is, I am happy! My worst habit is my old family taught me 'hug'- so I jump up at times for a hug, which of course some people won't like. My carers are training this out of me! Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning!
I know basic commands, love fetch, have great recall, and travel well in the car. I walk well on a lead and LOVE to sniff gardens! I was perfectly behaved at the vet and while I can be fussy with my dry food, I will do just about anything for a piece of (cooked) chicken, making me easy to train!
I am a lovely dog who will make a beautiful member of your family. I look forward to regular outings, lots of games, and being included in your life.
Medical notes
Was heartworm tested in July 2020- negative, yay! Has been kept up to date ever since.

Adoption details
PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS FROM OUTSIDE Queensland. All pets must be collected from Toowoomba or Brisbane. Transport cannot be arranged by Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld- this is adopter responsibility. We appreciate your understanding.
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. Photos may be sent to our facebook page, or email offthechaink9rescue@outlook.com
ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OTCadoptionapp
If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
