About Harry
MUST BE REHOMED WITH ANOTHER CANINE COMPANION.
Harry is a gorgeous friendly boy with lots of love to give. Harry was surrendered to us due to an allergy in the home to dogs, and separation anxiety. His foster carer, Marie, has crate-trained him and now he is a much calmer fellow when left for a few hours. Harry happily takes himself off to the crate where he has learnt that it is a peaceful and safe place for him to rest but can also chill on the lounge with his foster carers dogs.
Harry is house-trained so must have access inside at all times and sleep inside in a warm area of the home of a night time. He is an extremely affectionate fellow and just loves any cuddles sent his way. He would sit on your lap all day if possible!
However, Harry also enjoys long walks – he is good on lead and being a jack Russell he loves to sniff and investigate. Also a home where his daily walks can continue is essential. Harry is also good in the car and would love a home where his new owner can take him out and about in the car every now and then so he can explore and smell new places.
Whilst he enjoys being loved and cuddled, he needs a family who will not molly- coddle him as this will exacerbate his separation anxiety - he needs to have some independence from you. His carer is experienced with separation anxiety so can give you some advice on how to set Harry up to succeed in his new environment.
Harry needs another small, older calm and confident canine companion who will help him with his anxiety. He is not the type of dog you can leave home alone for many hours – perhaps a work from home person/s or active retirees would be best suited. A home with children (or visiting children) under 10 would be too much for Harry, and he has made a very strong request that he not be rehomed with cats!!
If you would like to meet Harry, please send us as much information as possible about your home and lifestyle so that we can see if you are both a good match.
