About Coby
Please read all information about Coby and address his needs in your enquiry and application.
Coby is a 10month that is going to make one lucky family complete. The only thing Coby loves more then snuggles is food! Chillin on the couch with his humans after a fun filled day is what he loves best!
Whilst in care Coby has been very social with humans of all sizes. He has shown his carer and rescuers that he is incredibly loyal and affectionate. Coby walks very well on leash and is a great walking buddy.
Being a pup Coby loves to play with toys. He has enjoyed training as he knows it means yummy treats.
Coby is very food motivated which makes training much easier.
Coby loves rides in the car and adventures.
Whilst he is mostly toilet trained he still has accidents. Moving to a new environment we do suspect he will have accidents so if that’s not something your prepared for please don’t apply.
Coby was surrendered into our care due to him not getting along with the other dog in the house. Whilst in care Coby has shown reactivity to large dogs but responded SO well to correction and guidance that we are confident with the right owners he will become social with all dogs. Coby played well with a pup of similar size to him however needed very slow introductions to new dogs.
Coby needs an experienced owner who is dedicated to on going training and positive socialisation.
Coby is NOT a dog park dog!
We are happy to consider homes with other dogs as long as the applicants are confident and experienced dog owners as he is still learning the appropriate behaviours around other dogs and needs on going training with this. He has also previously had issues around food with the other dog.
We believe Coby will do better with a female dog of similar size.
Whilst in care Coby has shown some anxiety whilst being left alone. Therefor Coby is NOT suitable for an apartment.
Cobys carer has been working hard to make him feel secure and ease his anxiety however this is a long process and his new owners will need to be prepared to continue working on his separation anxiety. Previous experience in dealing with separation anxiety is ideal.
Because of his anxiety when being left alone he is not suitable for fulltime workers. We are happy to assess individual circumstances however, if you can outline how you’d make it work post covid when back at the workplace.
Coby is food obsessed and will go through the kitchen looking for food given the opportunity. All dog food needs to be locked away securely.
Coby can be very full on around food. Whilst in care we have been working on his manners around food. If you have other dogs his obsessive behaviour around food is something you need to be confident in managing. We would like his new family to continue teaching him good manners around food.
Whilst Coby is very friendly with all humans of all sizes we won’t be rehoming him with children under 5 due to obsessive behaviour around food.
Coby is learning crate training and figuring out with lots of positive reinforcement that the crate is a safe space.
Overall Coby is an amazing little guy who is full of pure love and fun!
Coby is not suitable for homes with life stock, cats and pocket pets.
